"Génie oblige" - This saying comes from Ferenc Liszt who invented it on the analogy of another saying "noblesse oblige". Genius and talent also obliges one. It obliges those selected for and gifted with talent so that they can develop their abilities with utmost devotion. But it obliges anyone in a position to support musical genius and its Alma Mater.

The mission of the foundation to be established matches the goals that drive the Liszt Ferenc University of Music (the Academy of Music ). The Foundation is committed to helping the Academy of Music live up to its founder, one of the most prominent character of universal musical history, Ferenc Liszt, and become a music education centre in the European Union. Hungary 's greatest cultural values - musical talent and the tradition of music education - needs to be developed and demonstrated internationally in this spirit.

The Music Academy is the top of Hungarian musical life. The Academy of Music should be among the first of similar institutions around the word, representing the Central European region at the highest level. Let Ferenc Liszt's Academy of Music become a concept - in the international cultural and academic life alike!

The value of Liszt Ferenc University of Music is manifested to the Hungarian and international musical society in the productions of its teachers and students. Its teachers represent the institution by their concerts, master courses and - last but not least - by their excellent students. The students demonstrate their extraordinary skills and perfect education; they play at concerts and music competitions.

The Academy of Music should retain its best traditions: the piano school traditions of Liszt, Dohnányi and Bartók, the strings school traditions of Jeno Hubay and Dávid Popper, the composer education achievements of Hans Koessler, Zoltán Kodály and Ferenc Farkas, the one hundred and fifty years of wind music and singing culture, the chamber music education of Leó Weiner and András Mihály, the music pedagogic principles and methods and chorus culture of Zoltán Kodály, the spirit of the musicology department of Kodály and Bence Szabolcsi and the centennial values of Hungarian sacred music. At the same time, opportunities should be provided to the new creative and performance workshops, especially including the areas of contemporary music, jazz and musical movements seeking historical truthfulness.

The Liszt Ferenc University of Music is an issuer and a recipient at the same time. It discovers, manages and educates Hungarian talents and introduces them to the stages of international musical life. In line with its old traditions, it also admits foreign professors and patronises talented foreign students. Let the Academy of Music become a world-famous Alma Mater of young talents!
